A Taste of Taiwan; Spicy Fried Squid

Whether it be as a snack or a side dish to a meal, there is something about Spicy Fried Squid which makes the mouth happy... as long as you like squid!

When it comes to squid dishes, the fresher the squid the better. When we fry squid, we always use fresh squid as the texture will be less chewy than a frozen variety. Cleaning squid is very simple. You pull off the head (tentacles) and then squeeze the innards from the body. You then remove the flimsy translucent bone and you're done!

Squid takes very little time to cook since there is no fat. Once they hit the hot oil, you only need to fry them a few minutes. We like to serve our Spicy Fried Squid with it drizzled with some hot chili oil and some Asian sweet chili sauce (Mae Ploy).
