Flavorful Tofu? It's Possible with Cambodian Braised Tofu

The Meatless Monday craze which is sweeping across the world is a good idea but often times quite flavorless. There is nothing wrong with going meatless as long as you remember that your body needs protein and if you're not going to eat meat, then one of the better sources for protein is... tofu!

Tofu is basically a bean curd made from soy beans. It has no taste, thus it takes on whatever flavors it is cooked with. Most people are turned-off by tofu due to its texture. One way around this is to first fry the tofu. In the case of this dish, we not only fry the tofu but we complete the dish by braising it in a savory broth.

This is a very simple, quick and money-saving (tofu is very inexpensive) side dish for any Asian entree.
