Onion Rings with a Japanese Tempura Twist!

For your next Meatless Monday celebrate with something very simple, rather healthy and incredibly tasty. Onion Rings! No, not you're usual onion rings but a lightly crunchy onion ring featuring a staple of the Japanese kitchen... tempura!

 Our tempura recipe for these onion rings will be very basic. You don't want the tempura to get in the way of the sweetness of the onions. The best onions to use for this type of onion ring are the sweeter varieties. Just make sure to slice the onions rather thick for a better texture.

At Fusion Asiana whenever we deep-fry, we always use peanut oil and the reason is rather simple. There is no flavor to peanut oil, thus you get the full flavors of the food you're cooking.
