Homemade Chili Oil

If you are a fan of Szechuan food or the hot and spicy foods from Asia, you have no doubt spent some money on chili oil at the market. This chili infused oil can be quite expensive but today on Fusion Asiana, we'll teach you how to make it at a fraction of the cost.

Since chili oil is used as a flavor enhancer and not used to stir-fry, you can use a good quality vegetable oil. As far as the dried peppers (flakes) are concerned, any type of hot pepper will work just fine.

Once you have made and bottled your chili oil, add a few whole dried chili's to the bottle. It not only looks good but it will also let you know it is chili oil (this can be hot, you don't want to add it to a dish by mistake).
