Meatloaf Like Never Before: Asian Meatloaf

It has always been thought that meatloaf was an American creation. The fact is, meatloaf has been made throughout Asia for centuries. It was originated as a way to use various portions of meat before they spoiled. They simply ground all the meat together, formed it and then baked it!

This Asian Meatloaf fuses many genres of Asian cooking. Here we will use ground beef and pork. As a filler we will use cooked rice. It will be spiced using ginger and garlic and flavored with hoisin and soy sauce. There is no egg used in Asian Meatloaf.

To add a touch of sweetness and some very subtle heat, the meatloaf is glazed with Asian Sweet Chili Sauce (known as Mae Ploy).
