Turmeric: The Spice for Life! Turmeric Chicken with Mango

When most people think about the spice known as "turmeric," they usually associate it with Indian cuisine. This is quite logical since turmeric is a very popular spice in Indian cooking. The fact of the matter however is, turmeric is an Asian spice and though not used much in American Asian eateries, it is used very often in eateries throughout Asia.

Turmeric, as in the spice, in a dried tuber which is ground into a powder. It has a rather delicate taste and a very vibrant yellow color. It is also one of nature's superfoods and there are currently studies underway to determine whether turmeric fights cancer and Alzheimer's disease.

With this dish we are doing something very Asian. We are combining meat (chicken), vegetables (bok choy) and fruit (mango) in one dish. This is one of the reasons why real Asian cuisine is considered one of the healthiest cuisines in the world!

By-the-way, you might like to know that this dish only takes a few minutes to make (excluding the 30 minute marinating time).
